Scope:

 

The Retail Banking Manager reports directly to the CEO.  This position’s primary roles are to maintain and expand our customer base through effective customer service and sales efforts including: opening customer accounts, approving consumer credit lines, consumer loan origination, supervision of the Customer Service Supervisor and the development and implementation of strategies to meet or exceed department goals for deposit volume and fee income as well as tracking and reporting department results compared to goals.  This position will work with the Bank’s Marketing Consultant to define and implement the marketing programs and report the results to Senior Management.

 

This position will be responsible for managing the activities all branch bank locations with regard to retail sales and service.  This includes working with the Loan and Deposit Compliance Officer to maintain a compliant atmosphere in both retail loans and deposits by supporting and promoting the compliance systems in place and changes made to the systems as are needed; as well as being familiar with the current regulations and rules and providing time and space for supports to complete their compliance responsibilities in a timely fashion.

 

This position will be responsible for promoting the Bank and implementing plans to increase deposit volume, consumer loan volume and fee income; and will report results quarterly to the Board of Directors.     

 

This position will work with Senior Management to restructure the Retail Banking area of the Bank to become more efficient.  That may include changes in staff levels, use of automated equipment or adding other departments into Retail Banking and expanding its role within the Bank. 

 

This position will handle the more sophisticated customer requests in the account opening process and will help the overall sales function in deepening existing customer relationships and soliciting prospects.

 

The Retail Banking Manger will originate consumer loans. This will include talking with the customer, assisting with the completion of the application and processing of the loan, all within a timely manner to satisfy the customers’ needs.

 

The Retail Manager will represent the Bank at community functions, including planning and organizing the Bank’s participation in those functions including, but not limited to:  parades, tailgates, Bank-sponsored events, etc.

 


Accountabilities:

 

Loans:  20%

       ·  Responsible for generating consumer loans within the guidelines set by bank policy and growth targets; including interviewing the customer and completing the loan  application.

  • Will perform daily and monthly reviews and renewals in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a compliant atmosphere for all lenders.
  • Will service loan portfolio, including collection of past due loans, when necessary.

 

New Accounts:  20%  

          ·   Will assist walk-in customers with their deposit account needs, understand the products the bank offers and be able to explain the value of these products to the customers.

  • This position will have primary responsibility for more complex customer transactions.
  • Responsible for timely maintenance, analysis and reviews of appropriate reports.

 

Sales, Service & Supervision:  40%

  • This position will have responsibility for retail product sales.  This will include helping to deepen account relationships with existing customers and soliciting prospects.
  • Sales responsibilities will include proactive sales, cross-selling and referring customers & prospects to the bank.
  • Will proactively work with lending staff on sales calling efforts, including making joint calls.
  • Will develop strategies to meet department goals and communicate those strategies to appropriate retail staff.
  • Will monitor and track department results compared to goals; and, when necessary, will provide additional training and/or guidance to retail staff.

          ·     Will facilitate new product development and coordinate researching competitive products we are able to offer to the public.

  • Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing coverage in the retail sales areas to ensure excellent customer service is provided.
  • Will monitor daily account activity and maintenance reports.
  • Will address disciplinary problems accordingly.

 

Project Coordination:  10%  

          ·   Will coordinate and participate in bank sponsored activities; such as: Realtor Outing, 4th of July parades and other employee-related or bank-sponsored events.

  • Will Work with third party vendors and staff to keep the banks website up to date and in compliance with banking regulations.

 

Reporting Functions: 5% 

          ·    Will track all necessary information relating to any promotions that are offered and report findings to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

  • Will compile data on certain products on an ongoing basis to track the fluctuations.
  • Responsible for completing the quarterly Retail Report for the Board of Directors.

  

Other:   5%

  • As part of the overall team of bank employees, the Retail Banking Manager may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.

Education and Special Requirements:

 

  • 4-year college degree or related business experience.
  • Minimum of three years banking experience.
